The Rod and Reel Arsenal. has been one of the more requested videos recently, so here is a run down of some of my favoured setups. Its easy to get lost when talking about gear and tackle as they are such large topics so hopefully this will be the beginning of a much more regular playlist talking about all things fishing Gear and tackle related.

Curious why more yak fishermen don’t use Alvey they just keep going.

The Jigmasters sound like the winch on a boat trailer. It'll wake the dead.

Loving it mate! All you flicks are mean as.
You should do a quick flick on how you clean your gear when you get off the water with lube tips. Cheers from another kayaker

G'day Rod. Awesome videos mate. Your vids convinced me to get a Slammer 3 to target the Spanish in the yak this summer. Going to fill it with 40lb and troll dead baits and hard bodies. Was looking to pair it with an appropriate entry level rod. Do you have any suggestions? Looking at the Ugly Stick GX-2 10-15kg currently. Cheers and keep up the awesome work on the channel!

I just bought one slammer 4500 for lure fishing. They seem to have a good deal right now on Amazon. I have penn spinner fishing V. I hope slammer is a good reel in term of taking water splash.

Sorry for the noobie question: If the target species are big snapper or grouper and bottom fishing with heavy weights, generally would a spinning or conventional reel be more suitable?

I'm looking at getting the Slammer III 4500 and was wondering what rods to pair with it. Would the Ugly Stik GX2 6' work well with it? Or what else would you recommend that won't break the bank?

Pick up a shimano spheros 6k, you'd be surprised with how much nicer it feels whilst fishing, not to mention it's higher level of sealing, and this is coming from an owner of that and the slammer, just find although durable the slammers have almost no cranking power, not ideal for spinning all day

Great stuff, really enjoying all your videos here in NZ. What about doing one that runs through how you service your reels? Cheers.
