As I was preparing my gears for the overnight fishing trip at Pulau Ubin, I found out that the converted Pioneer 13 footer surf casting rod had some damage on one of its guide.

The guide on the mid section of my fishing rod was broken, immediate attention was required as I am heading for a fishing trip at Pulau Ubin the next day. Without hesitation I removed the broken guide and started to do the replacement.

To remove the existing epoxy I used some heat to melt them and with a sharp pen knife I slowly scratched off the old line that’s holding the broken guide.

Some sandpaper was used to smoother the surface and the fishing rod was ready for the repair.
