The Deps Buzzjet is a lure that I am quite new too, and absolutely love. It is a surface lure because it swims across the surface of the water column. These types pf lures are often called a topwater lure. Here is a link to the Dogtooth Distribution website: http://www.dogtoothdistribution.com.au/lures/deps-buzzjet The Deps Buzzjet is particularly effective on Murray cod, although I believe that it is also an effective Bass lure and would no doubt work on any fishing species that actively feeds on the surface. The thing that makes the Deps Buzzjet unique is that it is a cross between a wake-snake and a surface lure. It creates a very large wake for it’s size, but also displaces water like a surface lure, generating quite a lot of a commotion on the surface. This season alone I have caught a number of Murray cod on this very Deps Buzzjet. It has proven to be irresistible to the Murray cod, and also the trout cod with a few of them caught on it as well. One trick which I forgot to mention in this video, is that if using the Deps Buzzjet, if you make a long cast, you may wish to wait a second or two before you begin your retrieve at is will sink upon landing and if you do not wait for it to float back to the surface (which only takes a second or two) the first part of your retrieve will be under the water instead of on the surface, which probably wouldn’t matter a huge amount anyway as the rattle, propellor and wide sway will quickly alert the Murray cod to it’s presence in the water anyway.
