Which Line do I use? Choosing the right fishing line can be confusing. I go over some information on these lines, and how I use them. Hopefully by the end you will have some idea of which fishing line to use for what situations. Monofilament, Fluorocarbon, or Braid? Let me know which line you like to use and on what type of reel.

Braid is my absolute favorite! The places I fish usually have a slight stain or darker water, so I'm not as concerned about line visibility. I fish from the bank, so I'm not getting into the deepest water, and I love frog fishing, so I need it's strength to get those bass out of the thickest cover. I like the way braid behaves better on the spool for casting than mono, fluoro, and copolymer, and it last longer and requires less replacement. I use it on my baitcasters and spinning reels. I do however use mono for my light trout and crappie spinning gear, up to 6lb test. Trout are a bit delicate, and you can't horse-em like bass, so with the stretch of mono, along with the action from a light rod, I loose less trout.

Great video very informative!! I remember when mono was the only option lol. I primarily use floro 90% of the time because of the waters I fish but i use mono or braid for my topwater and some times jigging rods!!

I still love my mono, for almost all applications. Fluoro too expensive.
