Fishing with live bait is always effective for catching fish. The TYPE of Live bait will vary depending where you are fishing. In Florida, LIVE SHRIMP IS GOLD! So there are a few ways we like to use live bait. Both are very effective, you will need to try both and see what you prefer. First is what is called “live lining” your bait. This involves simply putting the live bait at the end of a leader line and tossing it out. There is very minimal terminal tackle involved. This gives a very natural presentation to the bait. With no big weights to hold down the bait, it should move very naturally. The second method is with the float rig. This rig works very well if you prefer a visual strike indicator.

If you want to learn how to use this rig, we have written and illustrated a 10 page in depth EBOOK tutorial.

Those are popping corks. You should let the bait sink, then retrieve with a twitch. Just enough so that water is “popped” out of the front cup of the float. You could have just used regular floats the way you were fishing.

As always, The video is informative and entertaining. Just a little suggestion: try to provide your viewers with different camera angles or views of your fishing, including video shots of the fishes taking the bobbers down or taking the bait, lure,etc..It’ll definitely make it more exciting to watch.

just so you know, you shouldnt use a rag to hold really any fish, but especially trout. Even further you should really be handling trout with moist hands.
